Dip your fruitless hot cross buns in sprinkles and top with indulgent treats for an easy Easter dessert that will wow.

Ingredients

4 Woolworths fruitless hot cross buns

25g unsalted butter, melted

200g Woolworths white chocolate, broken into pieces

2 tbs 100s & 1000s sprinkles

125g strawberries, halved

50g chocolate cream wafer sticks

50g petite mini meringues

30g Woolworths mini wafers

50g pretzels

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced and line a baking tray with baking paper. Brush tops of buns with butter. Use a 3cm-round cutter or a small sharp knife to remove a circle from the centre of the buns, being careful not to cut all the way through. Bake buns for 5 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Step 2

Meanwhile, place chocolate in a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds, or until melted.

Step 3

Place buns on a serving platter. Carefully spoon melted chocolate into cavities. Top with sprinkles. Serve with strawberries, wafer sticks, meringues, mini wafers and pretzels.

Enjoy the perfect summer appetiser with this quick and easy Vegemite cob loaf recipe, a savoury delight infused with the unique flavour of Vegemite.

Ingredients

1 Woolworths cob crusty loaf

2 tbs butter

1 red onion, finely diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 spring onions, thinly sliced

380g 190g X 2 Bega cream cheese with Vegemite

1 cup Woolworths shredded mozzarella

1 cup Woolworths shredded parmesan

1/2 cup sour cream

5ml extra virgin olive oil cooking spray

1 tbs chopped chives

1 Lebanese cucumber, cut into sticks

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C /160°C fan-forced. Line a large-rimmed baking tray with baking paper. Prepare the cob by cutting out a 15cm circle from the top to form a bread lid. Scoop bread from the centre of the loaf, leaving a 2cm-thick layer of bread to fill in. Roughly tear scooped-out bread and reserve for later.

Step 2

Heat butter in a small frying pan. Fry and caramelised red onion and garlic on low heat for 10 minutes. Add spring onion and cook for a minute. Remove from heat and add to a bowl. Add cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan and sour cream to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Spoon the cream-cheese mixture inside the bread. Cover with bread lid. Wrap the cob in foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove cob from foil and place on prepared tray. Add torn bread pieces around it. Spray lightly with oil. Bake, uncovered, for a further 10 minutes until golden and crusty.

Step 4

Remove the bread lid. Garnish cream-cheese mixture with chives. Serve with crusty bread pieces and cucumber.

Hearing loss in the workplace is a growing concern, often linked to prolonged exposure to high noise levels.

While industries like construction or manufacturing are well-known for their associated risks, many other professions carry similar dangers to hearing health, often without being as obvious. From the sounds of machinery to the hum of busy environments, workers in a wide range of jobs are at risk.

The following list outlines the top 10 jobs associated with hearing damage and emphasises the importance of managing noise exposure and preventing hearing loss at work through appropriate measures and precautions:

1. Construction workers

Construction workers regularly deal with heavy machinery, jackhammers, and other equipment that generate excessive noise. Noise levels on construction sites can easily exceed 100 decibels, leading to a high risk of hearing loss in construction workers. To mitigate these risks, it's essential for workers to use proper hearing protection for construction workers, such as earmuffs or earplugs. 

2. Musicians

Musicians often expose themselves to significant hearing risks throughout their careers. While rock bands and DJs may be the most obvious at risk, hearing loss in musicians is also common among those performing or conducting in classical and jazz orchestras. Despite the acoustics of specialised concert halls, sound levels during performances can range from 85 dB to over 105 dB—well above the safe threshold for long-term exposure. Over time, this can lead to permanent hearing loss or conditions like tinnitus.

3. Factory and manufacturing workers

Factory and manufacturing environments are often loud due to machinery, conveyor belts, and industrial equipment, all of which can produce noise levels that exceed safe thresholds. Although call centres may not seem noisy at first glance, the continuous hum of phones, background conversations, and ambient noise can accumulate to harmful levels over time. Long exposure to such noise can result in hearing fatigue and potential damage. Creating a quieter workspace and monitoring noise levels in call centre environments can help reduce the risk of hearing loss among employees.

10. Firefighters

Firefighters face some of the loudest noises in the workplace, from sirens to alarms and emergency vehicles, all of which can exceed safe decibel levels. The acute and repeated exposure to such noise, often in urgent and high-stress situations, increases the risk of permanent hearing damage.

Wow a crowd with these simple, flavour-packed prawn brioche rolls, paired with crispy shaker fries seasoned to perfection.

Ingredients

1kg Woolworths shoestring fries

50g unsalted butter

6 brioche hot-dog rolls

1kg cooked tiger prawns, peeled and deveined

1/3 cup Woolworths mayonnaise

1 small lemon, zested, juiced

2 sticks celery, finely chopped

1 punnet chives, finely chopped

1 tbs Old Bay seasoning

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 230°C/210°C fan-forced. Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper. Spread fries across prepared trays. Bake for 20 minutes, turning halfway through, or until golden.

Step 2

Meanwhile, add butter to a medium frying pan on low heat. Cook for 1 minute or until melted. Brush tops of rolls with butter and set aside. Toss prawns through warm butter and remove from heat.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, add mayonnaise, lemon zest, juice, celery and half of the chives. Add prawns and butter mixture and stir to combine.

Step 4

Add seasoning to a paper bag. Add fries, in batches, shaking in bag to coat in seasoning. Place buttered rolls on a baking tray and bake in preheated oven for 1 minute or until warmed through. Spoon prawn mixture into rolls. Sprinkle with remaining chives. Serve with seasoned fries.

What causes dark circles and puffy bags? 

The skin around the eyes is extremely delicate - about 30% thinner than the rest of the skin on your face. As we get older, dark circles appear because the skin loses volume and reveals the blood circulating under the skin. A fiesta in a bowl, this vibrant Mexican layered dip of refried beans, corn, guacamole, salsa, cheese and sour cream will impress any crowd.

3 avocados, flesh removed

2 limes, juiced

425g refried beans

420g Woolworths corn kernels, rinsed, drained well

300g Woolworths chunky tomato medium salsa

600ml Woolworths sour cream

1/4 tsp Woolworths smoked paprika

1/4 bunch coriander, sprigs removed

350g Woolworths original salted corn chips

Directions

Step 1

Using the back of a fork, mash avocado in a bowl. Add lime juice. Season. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Spread beans over the base of a large glass serving or trifle bowl. Top with corn, then spread to cover beans.

Step 3

Add salsa in dollops on top of beans. Using the back of a spoon, gently spread to cover corn. Top with avocado, then sour cream.

Step 4

Sprinkle with paprika. Top with coriander. Serve with corn chips.
